I love the challenge of finding the right words to express new ideas, inform readers, and inspire action.
As a writer and editor, I contributed to a variety of print and digital reference works, including researching and writing 200+ articles for the launch of Britannica Kids. I’m a graduate of the University of Denver’s Publishing Institute and have a solid command of The Chicago Manual of Style, practical knowledge of The AP Stylebook, and the ability to maintain and adhere to in-house style guides.
As a content marketer, I create targeted email campaigns, managed and edited quarterly print newsletters, blogged regularly, wrote press releases, and crafted social media posts to increase engagement for a nationally recognized suburban Chicago library. (See Portfolio.)
Since early 2022, I’ve been teaching, working in an English language arts resource room at a local middle school and, last school year, teaching five sections of high school English at Roeper, the nation’s oldest independent school for the gifted.
The through line? A love of the written word, accompanied by a commitment to grammar and usage. I’ve collaborated with talented graphic and web designers every step of the way, optimizing presentation of compelling content and ensuring an excellent, accessible user experience.
Among the changes brought by the pandemic was a move to Michigan, where I happily live near my family and keep an eye out for opportunities to engage in communications or content marketing.
